TV22Training

We offer courses in field production, studio production, and video editing. Group classes for organizations are also offered and encouraged.

Members who wish to produce programming through Taos Channel 22 must attend an orientation class first before completing the training program.

Saturdays from 10:00am to 4:00pm (monthly)
April 11th Orientation and Preproduction
May 15th Studio and Field Production
June 12th Basic Video Editing

 

Orientation 

It is important that all individuals seeking access to any Taos 22 facilities (channel time, equipment use) understand Taos 22’s policies, procedures and culture. Our goal is to have successful and mutually beneficial relationship between the community and Taos 22. Attendees who successfully complete the Taos 22 Orientation will be allowed to request channel time for completed programs, and attending courses. Before attending, participants must register with Taos 22 as member.

Certification: In order to become certified Taos 22 producer student must successfully crew student productions and pass a written test.

2015 Training Schedule of Courses

Orientation and Preproduction
Fee: $50
Learn production terms, techniques, scriptwriting, scheduling crew and talent, shot composition, interviewing, the difference between field and studio production, edit preparation, and all the necessary paperwork involved. Course Schedule – Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm

Shooting Basics
Fee: $50
Students receive hands on training in studio and field production techniques (camera, audio, lighting) and will shoot a group project.

Course Schedule – Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm

Basic Video Editing
Fee: $50
Learn the basics of non-linear editing by understanding editing theory and learning practical applications. Students will capture footage working from edit decision lists, apply transitions and music, create text and put projects online. Students will use pre-shot footage, and will also edit student projects that will air on Taos22 channels.

Course Schedule – Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm

Students who successfully complete all three Saturday classes will be allowed to reserve field production equipment and Taos 22 studios. You must attend all classes, participate in class productions and pass all tests in order to become certified.

Taos22 is a local station for the community of Taos, New Mexico. Our content is cablecast and live streamed. We offer monthly workshop training in media and TV production.
